Faith in Action

S (Scripture): James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can this kind of faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacks daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm and eat well,” but you do not give them what the body needs, what good is it? 17 So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.

O (Observation):  James encourages Jesus’ followers to understand the deep, deep connection between faith and action.  A person of faith naturally follows up with action.

A (Application):  What is our call to action?  At times, that action will be to feed the hungry, or make a statement of faith, or simply trust in the Lord when things go against you.

Check those links out to see what I’m talking about.

What actions have you seen in others that tell you that they are people of faith?

P (Prayer): Lord, watch over us as we explore what it means to be obedient to you and to love our neighbor.  Amen.
