Missional Communities

Check out this video regarding missional communities.  Watch the video, them come back here.

Missional communities is described as an “extended family on mission.”

A missional community is mainly identified by its outreach into a particular group or demographic in a community.  The group is usually anywhere between 20 and 70 people.   Several missional communities can sprout from one larger congregation.   They act separately on mission but all come together for celebration.

As the missional community gathers together, the individuals / families form and build relationships with one another and spend time in prayer and worship, deepening their relationship with God.

What do you think are the inherent joys and challenges to living out God’s mission in this form? Would this work instead of traditional church? Would this work alongside traditional church?
