Anticipation

AFFIRM starts today.  Some kids will come to this 5-day church camp experience with lots of baggage: abusive homes, divorced parents, homesickness, bullying, and the list goes on and on.    Some kids will have more traditional backgrounds.  Some kids will be church nerds, some rarely attend worship services.  Some will be loners, some will be groupies.

We take all kinds.  How do we deal with them?  We love them.  Unconditionally!   We prepare the best we can, relying on experience and expertise of older and wiser camp counsellors, as well as the training we receive over staff training weekend.

Mostly, we rely on the Lord to shape us and mold us into caring and loving beings.   With that, we can handle almost anything : )
